About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Ventnor City, Isabella's Ventnor Cafe is a vibrant culinary gem that masterfully blends the bright, bold flavors of Mexican cuisine with beloved American breakfast and brunch classics. This cozy eatery at 4 S Portland Ave welcomes guests to a warm and inviting atmosphere, where the enticing aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling breakfast fare fills the air, promising a delightful start to the day.

Isabella's diverse menu is a celebration of flavor and comfort, offering everything from the rich and decadent Crabmeat Benedict to the hearty and satisfying Mexican Omelette. Their signature dishes like Chilaquiles and Burrito Feliz burst with authentic Mexican zest, while breakfast staples such as the Banana Foster Pancakes and Waffle Foster—served with two perfectly cooked sunnyside-up eggs and a side of Canadian bacon—bring a sweet and savory balance that is simply irresistible. For those seeking freshness, the array of fresh squeezed juices and smoothies like the Eye Opener or Berry Breakfast Smoothie infuse a perfect, healthful punch of energy.

The cafe's wrap selections, including the Ranchero, Buffalo Chicken, and Shrimp and Bacon, are crafted with care; wrapped tightly around vibrant, fresh ingredients, they offer handheld bursts of flavor ideal for a bustling morning or light lunch. Additionally, classics such as Huevo Rancheros, Steak and Eggs with bacon strips, and the Cafe Oy Vey display Chef Isabella’s passion for blending cultural influences into every bite.

What sets Isabella’s apart is not just their captivating menu but also their intimate and charming ambiance. The interior, while cozy and on the smaller side, showcases thoughtful decor that feels inviting without being pretentious—perfect for a casual family outing, a relaxed date morning, or a friendly brunch gathering. The attentive staff add to the welcoming vibe, eager to ensure every meal is memorable.

Regulars rave about the freshness and depth of flavor in every dish. Christie Mealo proudly shares how the Huevos Rancheros and Aztec Soup are staples that consistently hit the spot, while J L praises the home fries for being perfectly crispy and the veggie wrap as a delicious, satisfying option. Customers also appreciate the consistently high-quality ingredients, from the smoothly rich Cafe Benedict to the shareable sea platter that showcases outstanding seafood flair.

Although some guests have noted minor inconsistencies with breakfast meats and occasional timing quirks in service, these are outweighed by the overall genuine quality and charm Isabella’s offers. Mark McIntyre highlights the kid-friendly environment and the eager servers, making the cafe a reliable choice for families and food enthusiasts alike.

In essence, Isabella's Ventnor Cafe is more than just a breakfast spot—it’s a lovingly crafted experience where Mexican zest meets American comfort in a setting that genuinely feels like a hidden shoreside treasure. Whether you're craving a bold burst of chilaquiles or the sweet indulgence of Tres Leches, this cozy café invites you to savor each bite and sip with joy.

Have been coming here for a couple years now as our shore breakfast go-to. Food usually is great, however, the past two times we've gone there's been something 'off' about the breakfast meat. One time it was pork roll and it tasted like something was off, so I chalked it up to maybe being a different kind (I'm a Taylor pork roll guy). Next time back I got bacon, and it also had an off-taste. It almost seems like after they cleaned the equipment they didn't rinse whatever they used to cook the breakfast meat, as there was a strange, 'artificial' flavor. It's a shame because I've loved this spot and would go every time we come down, but this has happened the past two times we've been...

Their home fries were so good. The girl came to take my plate, and I wasn't done because I wasn't leaving one single bite. Today, I came in to try their veggies wrap with fries, and again, they did not disappoint. While visiting this month, I will definitely come back, and I recommend this cute little spot, especially for a date night. You do need reservations for dinner, but if you want to eat outside, they can accommodate you if there are free tables.

My wife and i came here looking for new places for breakfast, the food was very good and the places ans decor looks great. One thing we noticed which many other have said is that our check was given to ua before we even finish eating, it was kind of telling us to hurry up, didnt appreciate that. Overall great place for breakfast. Att: the foodies

I had the buffalo chicken wrap and it was tasty. The fries were crispy and delicious. The place is kid friendly and the servers were anxious to take care of their guests. The seating is a little tight because it is a small place, but the restaurant is nicely decorated. I will definitely eat here again.

We went for breakfast and everything was so nice. The place is roomy, clean, the food is good and the service was nice. We had the western omelet, Mexican omelet and burrito Feliz.

When we arrived through the front door, it seemed to be very inviting as there were several vases of flowers, small and large throughout the restaurant. We chose to dine inside although there was an option to dine outside which probably doubled the overall dining capacity. I would like to mention that only the front of the restaurant was covered by a retractable awning for outside dining and although there was seating alongside the restaurant, it was not all that inviting IMO. The service was pleasant although they seemed standoffish, not in a rude way, but just odd (something we have never experienced, so it can’t be described). Ordered some apple juice and the usual coffee which was below average, not much body to it. One dish, the Cafe Benedict was very good, ordered without the spinach which they gladly accommodated. It had perfectly cooked eggs that oozed the delectable yolk over the dish, totally delicious. The Mexican omelette was delicious, however, it just missed the mark compared to other omelettes in comparison. I could not discern any sausage (the menu didn’t mention what type of sausage and I guess I now know why) in the omelette, although the other ingredients were evidently present. Enjoyed the guacamole (very tasty), salsa (very mild) and sour cream that accompanied the omelette, all were used with the dish. Due to my personal taste, I had to add some Cholula sauce that was on the table with my omelette (my favorite hot sauce BRW) as the salsa provided had a very mild heat to it. Both dishes came with home fries that were excellently seasoned which, unfortunately, we could not finish. The rye toast was buttered and delicious. Have to mention that parking on the street outside the restaurant can only be paid by the “Park Mobile” app, if you so desire . There is a Dunkin next door, but it appears they monitor their lot for non customers which I can’t disagree with. Overall it was a good breakfast, however, the experience was not as we expected. I wouldn’t discourage anyone to try it, just not our cup of tea as it just felt “off”.
